Meet Chris

Hi, I'm Chris Alvarado and I've been doing improv for over 25 years.

I have trained and performed at some of the top improv institutions in the country, including Second City in Chicago and L.A., UCB LA, iOWest, and Westside Comedy Theater.

I currently perform with the improv teams Heyday and Pretty Pretty Pony at Westside Comedy Theater, and my experimental comedy groups, The Live Direct Show and Organism. In addition to performing, I also coach many improv teams. I enjoy working with performers of all levels and helping them improve their skills, take risks, and connect as a team.

I created the Chris Alvarado Improv Workshops to provide a space for the work I've always loved, work that is fun but also meaningful. My workshops and classes are designed to help performers improve their skills and encourage them to break free from traditional rules and conventions. By exploring beyond the rules, performers can find their own source of inspiration and make meaningful connections with others. Whether you're a seasoned performer or just starting out, my workshops offer a supportive and inclusive environment for you to explore the world of improv.
